Description

This Simply Lasagna Recipe with Kraft Natural Cheese layers seasoned ground beef, creamy ricotta, and gooey melted mozzarella and Parmesan between tender noodles for a rich, crowd-pleasing dinner that’s easier than it looks.

Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef

2-1/2 cups Kraft Natural Cheese shredded mozzarella, divided

1 container (15 oz) ricotta cheese

1/2 cup Kraft Natural Cheese grated Parmesan, divided

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 egg, beaten

1 jar (24 oz) pasta sauce

1 cup water

12 lasagna noodles, uncooked

Instructions

1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

3. While the meat cooks, mix the egg, ricotta, parsley, 1-1/4 cups mozzarella, and 1/4 cup Parmesan in a bowl.

4. Drain the meat, return it to the skillet, and stir in the pasta sauce. Add water to the empty sauce jar, shake well, and pour into the skillet; stir until blended.

5. Spread 1 cup meat sauce in the bottom of a 13×9-inch baking dish. Layer 3 noodles, 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, and 1 cup meat sauce. Repeat two more times.

6. Top with the remaining noodles, meat sauce, and both cheeses.

7. Cover tightly with foil and bake 45 minutes, then uncover and bake 15 more minutes until bubbly and golden.

8. Let stand 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Drain the browned meat well to avoid a watery bottom layer.

Assemble up to a day ahead and refrigerate before baking; add about 10 extra minutes to the covered bake time.

Swap in ground turkey or Italian sausage for a different flavor.

Stir thawed, drained frozen spinach into the ricotta mixture for a veggie boost.

Leftovers keep 3-4 days refrigerated or up to 3 months frozen.
