Description

Spicy Garlic Chili Oil Dumplings made with crispy pan-fried halal chicken and vegetable dumplings tossed in a bold homemade garlic chili oil sauce with soy sauce, ginger, sesame oil, and fresh garnishes. A quick and flavorful meal perfect for dinner, appetizers, or dumpling nights.

Ingredients

24 frozen or fresh halal chicken and vegetable dumplings

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1/2 cup water

3 tablespoons chili oil

2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

5 cloves garlic, finely minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

2 green onions, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped

Crispy fried garlic (optional for garnish)

Instructions

1. Heat vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Arrange dumplings in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.

3. Carefully add water to the skillet and immediately cover with a lid.

4. Steam dumplings for 6-8 minutes until the water evaporates and the dumplings are fully cooked.

5. Remove the lid and cook for another 1-2 minutes to crisp the bottoms.

6. In a bowl, whisk together chili oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, honey, and chili flakes.

7. Transfer hot dumplings into the sauce and gently toss until evenly coated.

8. Arrange dumplings on a serving platter.

9. Garnish with green onions, toasted sesame seeds, cilantro, and crispy fried garlic if desired.

10. Serve immediately with extra chili oil on the side.

Notes

Use frozen dumplings directly from the freezer without thawing for the best texture.

Adjust the spice level by adding more or less chili oil and chili flakes.

Taste the sauce before coating the dumplings and adjust sweetness, spice, or acidity as needed.

For extra crispy dumplings, avoid overcrowding the skillet.

Store leftover dumplings in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat in a skillet for the best texture.
